Easy Tiramisu Recipe
Looking for an easy Tiramisu Recipe?
Here are two from two good friends, who both assure me that their easy tiramisu recipe is the best. I will let you be the judge. The first one is my friend Susana's. RECIPE 1 Ingredients 500 grams of Mascarpone cheese 4/5 eggs 2-3 heaped tablespoon sugar Italian savoiardi biscuits Approx half a glass of liqueur (Susana uses Tia Maria) Approx 2 cups of coffee (Susana uses instant coffee, but you can use brewed coffee if you prefer) Chocolate powder (eg, drinking chocolate powder)
Method 1. Separate the egg whites and the egg yolks. 2. Add the sugar to the egg yolks and whisk until the yolks turn whitish. Then add the Mascarpone cheese and fold in gently with a fork. 3. Whisk the egg whites until they form peaks (do not add sugar). 4. Gently fold the yolks + Mascarpone mixture to the egg whites. Do not stir, just fold gently as you want to maintain the fluffiness of the egg whites. Set aside. 5. Prepare around 2 cups of coffee in a big bowl and add the liqueur. 6. Individually soak the biscuits in the coffee and liqueur and line them at the bottom of a deep square dish until you have a complete layer of biscuits. 7. Pour half the eggs + Mascarpone mixture on top of the biscuits. 8. Add another layer of coffee soaked biscuits. 9. Add the remaining layer of the egg + Mascarpone mixture. 10. Using a small sieve, sprinkle a layer of chocolate powder on top until the top layer is covered in chocolate. 11. Place in the refigerator to cool for at least 2-3 hours before serving.
The other Tiramisu recipe is my friend Vivienne's.
RECIPE 2 Ingredients 4 Eggs 500 grams Mascarpone cheese 2 heaped tablespoons icing sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 heaped tablespoon espresso coffee 1 1/2 cups boiling water 3 tablespoons Tia Maria Liqueur 1 packet Savoiardi sponge fingers 2 tablespoons caster sugar grated chocolate Method 1. Mix espresso coffee with boiling water and a generous amount of Tia Maria 2. When coffee is fully dissolved tip mixture into a shallow basin and leave to cool 3. Separate egg whites from yolks 4. Add Mascarpone, icing sugar and vanilla essence to yolks, mix together till smooth 5. Using clean beaters, whip the egg whites until soft peaks form, add caster sugar, gradually beating until it has all dissolved 6. Mix the egg whites through the Mascarpone by folding in one third at first and then adding the rest 7. Spread a third of the egg and Mascarpone mixture evenly over the bottom of a shallow glass baking dish 8. Take half of the Savoiardi biscuits and dunk them one at a time in the coffee liqueur mixture and layer them on top of the Mascarpone 9. Add another layer of Mascarpone, another layer of dunked biscuits, then another layer of Mascarpone 10. Top with grated chocolate - that has been kept in the freezer (makes grating easier) 11. Place in refrigerator for at least 5 hours or overnight. There you have it, two easy Tiramisu recipes for you to choose from. The choice is yours! Enjoy!
